Grooming Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made via WhatsApp, Email, Contact Form, Telephone, Online Booking System and any other forms of communication with any Scrub-A-Dub Dogs employee.

2. Payment

• Payment is required in full prior to arrival unless otherwise arranged.
• Bookings are not confirmed until payment is made in full, unless otherwise arranged.
• It is the responsibility of the owner/individual booking to select the correct pet and weight. If the incorrect details are provided then the client agrees to be held liable for any additional costs.
• If upon arrival there are additional requirements payment will be required prior to grooming.
• If for whatever reason payment is not made prior to or on the day of grooming then the payment is due within 2 business days unless otherwise arranged. By accepting Scrub-A-Dub Dogs services you are liable for making payment, if payment was not made prior to arrival.
• Failure to make timeous payment will result in late payment fees and interest and may result in an impaired credit record.
• By using our services you agree to being personally liable for all collection fees, legal fees, late payment fees and interest. We charge a late payment fee of R50 per invoice per month PLUS 2% per month interest compounded on all late payments.

3. Pricing

• Prices given over the phone are based on Scrub-A-Dub Dogs’ representative’s judgement and based on the information provided by the client.
• Scrub-A-Dub Dogs reserves the right to change price if the condition or size of the pet requires more work than anticipated.
• Scrub-A-Dub Dogs reserves the right to charge an additional fee for severely matted dogs and cats in addition to pricing displayed.
• Prices are available on the website and therefore the client acknowledges that additional fees may be incurred.
• Prices are subject to change.
• Miniature Schnauzer are classified as MEDIUM breed and Standard Schnauzers as large breed.
• Prices are based on size of the pet by weight, coat type and condition. In the case of a dispute on the size of the dog, we will use the average weight as stipulated for the breed on the AKC website.
• The client is responsible for disclosing all important information related to the size, weight, breed and coat condition.
• Scrub-A-Dub Dogs reserves the right to cancel bookings if incorrect information is provided.
• Changes to bookings are required to go through head office. Changes to bookings on arrival will incur an additional R50 admin fee.
• Flyer promotions: only 1 promotion per client is allowed.

4. Modification

• Scrub-A-Dog reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to:
• change these terms and conditions without notice to the client;
• change the content and/or services available on or through the website; discontinue any aspect of the website or service(s) available from the website;
• and/or delete the website.
• The client is responsible for reviewing these terms and conditions each time it uses the website and online services. The client’s continued use of the website and online services constitutes the client agreement to the then current terms and conditions.

5. Hours of Operation

• • Our hours of operations are Monday to Saturday 8.30am – 5pm and selective Public Holidays.
• Last appointments of the day must begin no later than 4.30pm, unless otherwise agreed, depending on the breed and condition.
• If the client delays the team from grooming a pet then Scrub-A-Dub Dogs reserves the right to charge an additional R100 for every 30min delay. We reserve the right to turn away clients that are over 15 minutes late for their appointment.
• Please note we do not guarantee arrival times as we deal with many factors that can cause delays.
• No refunds or rescheduling will be allowed if clients or their pets are not present on arrival.

6. Load Shedding

• In the event of load shedding we will work around the schedule in your area. We may need to move your booking from a morning to afternoon slot, or vice versa. Your date will not change unless unavoidable.
• Please add your load shedding schedule or area that you fall under in the form, please send us a WhatsApp if unsure. A R100 levy will be charged for additional callouts if not informed.

7. Booking Reservations

• You are encouraged to book your service in advance.
• Cancellation policy: 24 hours notice must be given before cancelling an appointment, failing which we reserve the right to charge for the full price. Cancellations without rescheduling incur an admin fee of R50. If the booking is moved on arrival an additional R100 call out fee will apply.
• Please note that it is the clients responsibility to check weather conditions prior to booking.
• Bookings are not reserved until payment is made in full.
• Scrub-A-Dub Dogs reserves the right to cancel bookings for whatever reason, including but not limited to: incorrect information being provided, events outside of Scrub-A-Dub Dogs’ control occur.
• It is the clients responsibility to ensure the correct address has been provided when booking, and note that Scrub-A-Dub Dogs may cancel such bookings without notice. If unsure of whether the area is covered, the client can contact Scrub-A-Dub Dogs on our WhatsApp line.
• The client is responsible for providing access to a tap and plug point within 15m of the parking location. No refunds or rescheduling will be allowed if grooming is not able to take place on arrival.

8. Matted Coats

• The well-being of your pet is of utmost importance to Scrub-A-Dub Dogs, for this reason, severely matted dogs and cats, will be shaved to prevent pain and suffering.
• By using Scrub-A-Dub Dogs services, the client grants permission for matted hair to be shaved and stripped. The additional cost of this will be borne by the client.
• Severely matted pets will incur additional fees at the discretion of management.
• It should be noted that there is a greater risk of cuts and injury for severely matted pets and Scrub-A-Dub Dogs will not be held liable for the injury of any pet.
• No refunds will be processed if Scrub-A-Dub Dogs staff are unable to groom your pet due to the severity of the matting.

9. Illness / Injury / Condition

• Pet’s medical history must be disclosed before any treatment commences.
• We cannot groom your pet until the vet has given the go ahead for your groomers to return. Even though we sanitise our vans after every appointment, the risk factor it too great to pass a contagious skin disorder from one household to the next.
• We retain the right to refuse to groom any pet that may have any of the following (if unsure please consult your vet or send us a query):
o Severe or contagious skin conditions
o Stitches from any surgery
o Any open or weeping wounds
o Any form of ill health
o Vomiting
o Diarrhea
o Breathing difficulties
o Unusual lethargy
o Any other signs of injury not yet seen to by a vet
o Pregnancy (Scrub-A-Dub Dogs does not groom heavily pregnant pets)

• By using Scrub-A-Dub Dogs services, the client agrees:
o The pet is fit and healthy. (Grooming of sick, pregnant or elderly pets is entirely at the owner’s risk). Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems that we cannot be held liable for.
o The pet is vaccinated and up to date. An unvaccinated pet puts itself and others at risk. If your pet is not vaccinated and any staff are harmed by your pet then you will responsible for any medical related costs.
o It must be clearly understood and agreed that whilst every attention is given to your pet(s) they are accepted at the owner’s risk. Our first concern is for the welfare of your pet so in the event of injury or illness a vet may be called in and all costs in connection with and in the carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owner’s expense.
o That the groomer and Scrub-A-Dub Dogs will not be held liable or responsible for any mishap caused.
o The client acknowledges that no complaints will be entertained more that 24 hours after being groomed.

10. Ticks and Fleas

• Pets with ticks and fleas will be treated with Scrub-A-Dub Dogs’ choice of remedy at the current cost indicated on our price list. Owners will be advised and are encouraged to address problems areas in their pet’s home and immediate environment.
• The mobile salon will also need to be treated to prevent cross contamination therefore and additional charge of R50 will be levied if we are not informed prior to grooming of infestation. You will be advised to treat your pet and your home environment to eradicate the problem.
• If you suspect your dog has fleas or ticks, prompt and thorough action on your dog is needed. A flea infestation can lead to tapeworm and other health problems. If fleas or ticks are found during the grooming process, you will be charged an additional fee to properly treat your dog
• If ticks are found, we strongly suggest that you have your dog test for Lyme disease. Parasites are a health hazard to your dog, as well as to humans. You will be advised to treat your pet and your home environment to eradicate the problem.
• Please note we will not use pesticide dips or sprays on your dog. Scrub-A-Dub Dogs will not be held responsible or liable for any adverse skin reactions. We suggest that a spot-on or chewable tablet be used especially for pets with sensitive skin. It should also be noted that a wash kills only the ticks/fleas on the pet at the time and the environment will need to be treated as well to prevent reinfestation.
• Please note that tick and flea treatment is a wash. Scrub-A-Dub Dogs will not be held responsible or liable for any adverse skin reactions. We suggest that a spot-on or chewable tablet be used especially for pets with sensitive skin. It should also be noted that a wash kills only the ticks/fleas on the pet at the time and the environment will need to be treated as well to prevent reinfestation.
• Scrub-A-Dub Dogs takes great care in ensuring a clean environment. We will however not be held liable or take any responsibility for your pet catching ticks or fleas. Dogs and cats can become infested with ticks and fleas in numerous ways and from multiple sources.

11. Aggressive / Difficult Dogs & Cats

• Dogs that are aggressive, difficult or have a tendency to bite will generally be muzzled for their safety and ours. While we have a great deal of experience and success in the grooming of difficult dogs, we reserve the right to halt the grooming process should a dog become aggressive to the point of being a danger to staff or to his or herself. No refunds will be given in the event that the groom is not able to continue.
• Please note Scrub-A-Dub Dogs are not able to sedate your pet.

12. Products

• Please note that Scrub-A-Dub Dogs cannot be held liable for any adverse reactions to any of the products. It is the responsibility of the person booking the groom to supply the correct information of the dog/cat.
• Scrub-A-Dub Dogs uses pet specific products and cannot be held liable for any adverse reactions to any products used.

13. Public Liability

• While every care is taken to ensure the safety of all pets, owners will not hold Scrub-A-Dub Dogs, its staff nor owners liable for any loss or injury to their pets and/or property.
• It is the responsibility of the client to ensure a safe parking location. If Scrub-A-Dub Dogs or its staff members incur any loss, as a result of unsafe parking, Scrub-A-Dub Dogs may hold the client liable.

14. Marketing

• By using Scrub-A-Dub Dogs, the client agrees to their pet being photographed/videoed and being used on Scrub-A-Dub Dogs website/social media and for any marketing purposes.
• By using Scrub-A-Dub Dogs services you agree to allow Scrub-A-Dub Dogs to contact you regarding your customer experience which may be in the form of electronic communication. This communication may include additional marketing content.
